Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an EMT- trained caregiver for emergency medical services. The role involves responding to calls, assessing and stabilizing patients, and transporting them to the appropriate facility.

A Massachusetts EMT certification, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license are required. The position operates on a 12-hour mixed shift, with 40 hours per week and potential signing bonus eligibility discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Certification as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
• CPR - Basic Rescue certification required (Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• Valid driver license is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers skilled medical care in response to emergency calls, following EMS protocols.
• Obtains medical history, checks vitals, informs on-call physician, performs definitive life support.
• Responds to a range of emergencies; conducts triage and transport coordination.
• Documents pre-hospital care for admission and database purposes.
• Maintains emergency vehicle readiness, stocks supplies and medications.
