Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks an Medical Support Specialist to support donor centers in Pearland, TX. You will assess donor eligibility, monitor safety, review test results, and communicate with center physicians. This hands-on role requires EMT licensure, CPR/AED, and hospital experience.

You will collaborate with the Center Manager and Medical Affairs to ensure compliance with regulations and EHS guidelines, while supporting vaccination programs and donor safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
