Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Harrisonburg, VA, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to assess donors, determine eligibility and support plasma collection operations. You will apply EMT and healthcare expertise to ensure donor safety and quality interactions.

This role reports to the Plasma Center Manager, requires state EMT/RN/LPN certification, CPR/AED, and clinical experience; it offers predictable schedules, comprehensive benefits, and career growth within Takeda.

Qualifications

• EMT/paramedic or nursing license in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience.
• Familiar with plasma collection regulations or manufacturing environments.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and testing reviews.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center guidance.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalation as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations.
