Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Livonia, MI is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor adverse events, and ensure donor safety in accordance with SOPs.

The role reports to the Center Manager and Center Physician, requiring state licenses (EMT/ RN/ LPN) and CPR/AED, along with vaccination program support and incident management. Competitive hourly wage and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program credentials per state requirements.
• State licensure as EMT, LPN/LVN or RN as applicable.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, examinations and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents in line with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
