Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to help ensure safe plasma collection and donor care at the Warren, MI center. You will determine donor eligibility, review laboratory results, manage donor adverse events, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

You will work under the Center Manager for operations and Center Physician for medical issues. You will support regulatory compliance, EHS guidance, and participate in vaccination programs for staff as applicable,

Qualifications

• Licensed healthcare professional in state of assignment.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• IV therapy qualification where required by state law.
• Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience required.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility incl. informed consent, medical history, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and occupational health input.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.

Education

EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P licensed

LPN/LVN or RN license

CPR and AED certification

Basic IV therapy qualification

Two years clinical/hospital experience
