Qualifications

• EMT or Paramedic background preferred; minimum requirements include EMS experience.
• Experience in emergency response or emergency communications is required.
• If EMT certification is not held, five years of 911 dispatching experience qualifies.
• AHA BLS CPR certification required; Virginia EMT or higher within four years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical transport requests across inpatient, emergency, and specialty services.
• Prioritize transport needs using clinical knowledge and acuity.
• Communicate clearly with EMS crews, hospital teams, and external partners.
• Manage multiple requests simultaneously with accuracy and situational awareness.
• Document transport activity in real time using established systems.
