Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Virginia EMT certification required.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License and at least 2 years driving experience.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• EVOC certification and be released to transport patients within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat ill and injured patients according to UVA Health protocols.
• Maintain safety throughout care and transport.
• Identify opportunities for improved care and quality.
• Collaborate with peers and healthcare teams while upholding standards.
• Ensure vehicles are cleaned, stocked, and ready after each transport.
• Stay current with required certifications and departmental in-services.
• Represent UVA Health's legacy of excellence in emergency medical service.
