Paramedic Billing seeks an EMS Revenue Specialist to work with health insurance companies to resolve open balances, verify coverage, and correct claims. You will update ICD-10 codes, send corrected claims and/or appeals, and conduct prebilling training as needed.

Applicants should have 2+ years in customer care or related roles, knowledge of EOB/ERA, and strong verbal communication skills. Office-based role in Elmhurst, IL with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• College preferred but not required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in customer care, account management or similar role.
• Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits or Electronic Remittance Advice.
• Understands the difference between rejections and denials.
• Healthcare knowledge is preferred.
• Must be a quick learner with excellent verbal communications skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle high call volumes.

Responsabilités

• Place and receive calls regarding billing insurance questions and patient services.
• Process accounts to resolve balances and respond to insurance inquiries.
• Resolve insurance carrier denials, file appeals, and contact carriers on open accounts.
• Communicate effectively with customers, agencies, facilities, and hospitals.
• Perform data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Research patient accounts to verify health insurance coverage and proper billing.
