Superior Ambulance Service, Inc. in Elmhurst, IL seeks an EMS Revenue Specialist to manage insurance billing, verify benefits, and resolve account balances with health insurers. You will file corrections, appeals, and communicate with hospitals to accelerate payments.

Two years in customer care or account management, familiarity with Explanation of Benefits, and strong attention to detail are required. Proficiency in Word/Excel is helpful. Competitive wages and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in customer care, account management or similar role.
• Ability to read and understand the Explanation of Benefits or Electronic Remittance Advice.
• Understanding of insurance terminology, rejections vs denials.
• Healthcare knowledge is preferred.
• Quick learner with good verbal communication and ability to handle high call volume.

Responsibilities

• Places and receives calls regarding billing insurance questions and other patient service activities.
• Process accounts according to the action required to resolve account balances.
• Resolve insurance carrier denials, appealing claims, contacting carriers on open accounts.
• Communicate with customers, agencies, facilities, and hospitals.
• Research patient accounts to verify health insurance coverages and audit billing.
• Compute adjustments based on EOB remittance and contracts.
• Ensure data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collect outstanding balances and resolve account discrepancies.
• Follow company policy and procedures.
