Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Senior Manager to lead EMS Transportation billing and revenue cycle operations, ensuring timely claim submission, accurate posting, denial resolution, and compliance across ground and air transport services. You will develop and coach billing staff, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with EMS operations, payers, and Finance to optimize revenue realization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, EMS billing or related healthcare financial environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience with accounts receivable management, insurance billing, payer follow-up, denial management, and financial reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMS Transportation billing operations; ensure timely claim submission, posting, denial management and account resolution.
• Develop and coach billing staff; monitor productivity and quality; conduct regular check-ins and evaluations.
• Oversee training for EMS billing requirements, payer requirements, and revenue cycle processes.
• Monitor revenue cycle performance; analyze KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve cash collections and days in A/R.
• Coordinate insurance filing, follow-up, and payer communications; escalate complex payer issues.
• Prepare regular financial and operational reports; escalate trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support system and departmental projects; lead initiatives affecting EMS Transportation billing workflows and controls.
• Serve as SME for EMS Transportation billing; guide staff and operational leaders on billing requirements and documentation.
• Promote service excellence and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
