Job summary

Cataldo Ambulance Service Inc. is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to oversee ambulance billing from intake to payment resolution. The role ensures accurate coding, compliance with federal/state rules, and strong customer relations within EMS billing operations.

The manager will lead workflow optimization, KPI monitoring, staff development, and data-driven improvements in cash collections. A bachelor’s degree and EMS billing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Ambulance Finance.
• Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• CAC, CPC or CPB preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire billing workflow from intake and PCR review to claim submission, A/R follow ups and collections.
• Review daily activities of patient accounts to ensure timelines and accuracy of revenue cycle processes.
• Ensure accurate coding (HCPCS, ICD-10, ALS/BLS modifiers) and compliance with CMS and private payer guidelines.
• Lead responsibility for the revenue cycle operation pertaining to all pre-billing activities.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize operations.
• Monitor KPIs such as days in A/R, collection and denial rates; report to Leadership weekly.
• Supervise department staff, recruit, train, mentor, and develop the team for maximum efficiency.
• Track staffing and performance to streamline steps and improve cash collections.
• Collect, manage and present data on accounts receivable, reimbursement, write-offs and denials.
• Identify root causes of denials, execute appeals, and implement prevention strategies.
