Job summary

EMS Management & Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist - Air to review, resolve, and process Air client claims across the revenue cycle.

You will perform proactive payer follow-up, handle pending/denied/underpaid claims, and work with internal and external partners to maximize reimbursement and reduce revenue loss. The role requires 1–2 years in medical billing or related fields, familiarity with payer requirements, HIPAA, and proficiency with billing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in medical billing, insurance follow-up, denials management or AR.
• HIPAA aware and able to protect patient and client information.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client accounts and claim inventories to identify revenue risks and aging trends.
• Prioritize and resolve pending, denied, underpaid, and aged claims per requirements.
• Manage claims across commercial, TRICARE, workers’ comp, VA, Medicare and Medicaid.
• Contact payers via portals to verify status, eligibility, and payment details.
• Obtain records and documentation; engage patients when appropriate to advance claims.
• Prepare and submit corrections, reconsiderations, and appeals with documentation.
• Research underpayments and overpayments; document resolutions for leadership.
• Identify root causes and escalate complex issues with supporting information.
• Report payer trends and opportunities to improve performance to teams.
• Collaborate with onshore/offshore teams for accurate account handling.
