Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Toledo, OH seeks a senior leader to oversee EMS Transportation billing and revenue cycle operations, ensuring timely, accurate billing, payer follow-up, and financial reconciliation while reducing denials and optimizing cash flow.

You will lead billing staff, develop training, monitor KPIs, partner with EMS operations and finance, and drive improvements in documentation, charge capture, and reporting to enhance the patient financial experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, EMS billing or related healthcare financial environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to lead/direct others; high analytical ability; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of registration, insurance, scheduling, and verification preferred.
• Experience in Air and Ground Medical Transportation billing and operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads EMS Transportation billing operations; ensures accurate, timely submission, posting, follow-up, denials, and reconciliations.
• Develops billing staff; sets performance expectations; conducts evaluations; provides coaching and development.
• Develops and maintains billing training programs and ongoing education on EMS billing requirements and payer changes.
• Monitors revenue cycle KPIs (collections, AR days, aging, clean claims, denials) and drives performance improvements.
• Oversees insurance filing, follow-up, payer communications, and account reconciliation.
• Provides financial reconciliation; coordinates audits and fixes discrepancies.
• Collaborates with EMS operations to improve documentation, charge capture, and authorization processes.
