Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an EMS Emergency Management Coordinator to lead and coordinate pre-hospital care initiatives. Based in Akron, this role partners with the EMS Medical Director, emergency physicians, and regional EMS coordinators to ensure high standards of care and ED readiness.

The position emphasizes developing protocols, coordinating training, and maintaining ongoing education hours for EMS providers.

Qualifications

• RN license or EMTP certification required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• OH EMS instructor certification within 1 year of hire.
• Five years EMS pre-hospital care experience required.
• Leadership, supervisory and teaching experience required.
• Regulatory knowledge of healthcare and EMS critical.

Responsibilities

• Develop pre-hospital protocols with EMS Medical Director and physicians.
• Meet continuing education needs of EMS providers and track hours.
• Coordinate programs and services for a system-wide pre-hospital approach.
• Monitor and verify EMS education hours as required by the state.
• Plan and conduct EMS training for certification and recertification.
• Maintain communications with EMS and community leaders.
• Collaborate to ensure ED readiness for disaster situations.
• Assist in maintaining EMS equipment in good condition.
