Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Five years of EMS experience as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic (Two years as a paramedic).
• State of Ohio Paramedic Certification is required.
• Basic Life Support Instructor – American Heart Association (BLSI) obtained within 12 months.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association (ACLSI) obtained within 12 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association (PALSI) obtained within 12 months.
• ITLS Instructor (International Trauma Life Support) instructor certification obtained within 12 months.
• FESI (Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Level II) completed within 90 days of hire.
• Computer skills and ability to use instructional software.

Responsibilities

• Instruct EMS courses in the classroom and lab settings.
• Conduct clinical site visits and supervise students.
• Maintain student records and evaluate performance.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring for EMT and Paramedic students.
• Assist with inventory management of EMS program supplies and equipment.
• Make recommendations on equipment or purchases to the Program Director.
• Assist with written test administration and evaluation.
• Evaluate students during clinical/field internships and document results.
• Collaborate with community health and EMS organizations.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development and currency in teaching methods.
