Qualifications

• Experience serving as an instructor, educator, or trainer strongly preferred.
• National Registry EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification, or State-issued equivalent certification/license required. Paramedic level preferred.

*This is a hybrid, grant-funded, benefits-eligible position with funding approved in one-year increments and an anticipated duration of three years.*

The EMS Project Manager oversees project management activities associated with a variety of grant-funded, contract-based, and organizational initiatives. This role is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of multiple projects designed to advance EMS and community-based healthcare services.

Working collaboratively with leaders across clinical, operational, educational, and support departments, the EMS Project Manager utilizes structured project management methodologies to achieve project objectives, ensure timely completion of deliverables, coordinate resources, and support continuous process improvement. The incumbent may be assigned complex, cross-functional projects requiring collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

The EMS Project Manager will play a key role in supporting statewide Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program development, workforce readiness initiatives, and EMS education efforts throughout Vermont.

Project Description

This position supports the UVM Health EMS Training Center and UVM Health's co-located Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) team in advancing statewide efforts to build and launch EMS-based MIH programs across Vermont.

In partnership with the Vermont State EMS Office, the EMS Project Manager will support contracted consulting work focused on designing, implementing, and sustaining workforce education and training frameworks for MIH programs. Key responsibilities will include project coordination, stakeholder engagement, curriculum development support, training program implementation, and evaluation of program outcomes to support the growth of innovative, community-based healthcare delivery models.

Qualifications

• National Registry EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification, or State-issued equivalent certification/license required. Paramedic level certification strongly preferred.
• Vermont EMS Instructor/Coordinator credential or New York Certified Instructor Coordinator credential strongly preferred.
• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years of field experience as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic required.
• Formal project management training or certification strongly preferred.
• Previous project management and supervisory experience in a healthcare, EMS, public health, or community services organization.
• Experience serving as an instructor, educator, or trainer strongly preferred.
