Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Director – EMS Programs to lead the Paramedic Program and EMS education under CTCCE. You will drive accreditation compliance, academic excellence, and a supportive learning environment for students, reporting to the CTCCE Director.

The role emphasizes program leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty development, student success, and clinical/field operations across multiple sites. Onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Current Virginia Paramedic certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Current NREMT Paramedic certification.
• Current Virginia Education Coordinator certification or ability within 6 months.
• 10+ years as a Paramedic; 5+ years EMS education experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program operations including curriculum development, course scheduling, recruitment and retention and faculty management.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements (CoAEMSP).
• Develop and manage program budget and submit reports to accrediting bodies.
• Lead faculty development, RAM survey and advisory committee activities.
• Coordinate clinical and field experiences and satellite sites.
