Job summary

The Tennessee Board of Regents seeks an Instructor in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for a 9/10 month term. You will deliver quality EMS instruction, assist with curriculum development, advise students, and coordinate clinical placements from the assigned campus.

You will remain current in EMS teaching areas through professional development, use the LMS for course materials, and ensure timely grading and reporting. Open until filled; pay range shown.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years practicing in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Minimum of two years educational administration or >300 hours instructional EMS experience.
  • EMS Board approvals in trauma, cardiac, and pediatric courses.
  • CAAHEP/CoAEMSP recommendations via TAC/COAEMSP and Tennessee Dept. of Health.
  • EMS board approved instructors’ course completion.
  • Licensed or eligible for Paramedic licensure in Tennessee (no revocation).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor certification currently held.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
  • Deliver instruction using online, hybrid, or web-enhanced formats as needed.
  • Advise students with emphasis on retention and success.
  • Coordinate clinical site placements and program evaluation.
  • Submit final grades by registrar deadlines and manage course records.
  • Maintain current professional development in EMS teaching areas.
