Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College is seeking a part-time Emergency Medical Services Program Lab/Clinical Technician to assist EMS instructors and students with lab and practicum needs.

The role involves organizing lab areas, preparing equipment, and coordinating clinical rotations at multiple campus locations. Candidates should have a Tennessee paramedic license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and EMS teaching or precepting experience, with strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Tennessee Paramedic License; Instructor Coordinator preferred.
• Provider certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS, PALS.
• Instructor level certification preferred.
• Maintains current licenses/certifications as required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Pre-Hospital Care provider or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist EMS instructors and students with lab/practicum and clinical needs at all EMS levels.
• Tutor lab/practicum and clinical competencies.
• Organize/clean lab areas and prepare equipment for courses.
• Inventory lab equipment.
• Serve as liaison between program and Clinical Affiliate staff.
• Provide orientation to students for clinical/field sites.
• Precept clinical/field rotations as needed.
• Assess compliance at clinical sites.
• Schedule clinical/field internships; train preceptors as needed.
• Stay current with EMS developments via literature and conferences.
