Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital seeks an EMS Instructor to deliver classroom, lab, and simulation-based content within the EMS Education Program. The role primarily supports the Paramedic Program and may cover EMT content as assigned, with responsibilities including instruction, student evaluation, and exam development.

Requirements include IL Paramedic or RN license, IL EMS Lead Instructor, and at least 3 years EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paramedic or RN license in good standing.
• Illinois EMS Lead Instructor certification.
• Minimum 3 years of EMS experience.
• Availability to teach on Mon/Wed/Fri, at least one day per week.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic content.
• Participate in laboratory and simulation activities.
• Develop and update instructional materials.
• Assist with exam creation and review.
• Maintain academic records.
• Participate in faculty meetings.
• Support accreditation and program quality initiatives.
• Mentor students and provide remediation when needed.
• Serve as a professional role model for EMS practice.
