Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital EMS Education Program seeks an EMS Instructor to deliver classroom, lab, and simulation-based instruction primarily for the Paramedic Program, with optional EMT content as assigned.

The role includes student evaluation, exam development, maintaining academic records, and supporting accreditation and National Registry preparation. Availability to teach on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays with a minimum commitment of one instructional day per week.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paramedic or Registered Nurse License in good standing.
• Illinois EMS Lead Instructor credential.
• Minimum 3 years of EMS experience.
• Strong instructional and communication skills.
• Availability to teach on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays with at least one day per week.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic content.
• Participate in laboratory and simulation activities.
• Develop and update instructional materials.
• Assist with exam creation and review.

Position Summary:

The EMS Instructor provides classroom, laboratory, and simulation-based instruction within the Silver Cross Hospital EMS Education Program. The instructor primarily supports the Paramedic Program but may also teach selected content within the EMT Program as assigned. Responsibilities include delivery of educational content, student evaluation, examination development, and supporting student success and National Registry preparation.
