Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks an EMS Educator I to coordinate EMS courses, supervise instructors, and ensure compliance with state regulations. The role includes curriculum updates, liaison work with the hospital and EMS providers, and participation in performance improvement and disaster drills.

Required are an Illinois RN license or EMT-P, BLS certification, and teaching/coordination experience within EMS environments. This position is based on-site in Lake Forest, IL.

Qualifications

• Licensed nursing (RN) in Illinois OR current EMT-P license without restrictions
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Three years EMS or ECRN experience
• One year teaching experience
• EMS course coordination experience
• Familiarity with NEMSIS data requirements and EMS electronic patient care reporting

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the EMS course to include classroom and lab instruction, scheduling instructors, supervision of students, and evaluation of learning.
• Communicate between the Resource Hospital and EMS System providers.
• Submit requests for educational materials, equipment, supplies and additional faculty; manage costs as needed.
• Monitor student and EMS Provider evaluations and report findings to EMS Administrator/System Coordinator.
• Assist in performance improvement projects for EMS, including case reviews and disaster drills.
