Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks an EMS Educator I to lead classroom and lab instruction for EMS courses, coordinate instructors, and ensure compliance with state rules. You will collaborate with the EMS Administrator/System Coordinator and hospital staff to deliver high-quality education.

The role requires nursing or EMT-P licensure, BLS certification, and several years of EMS experience including teaching and course coordination.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing license issued by Illinois or EMT-P license (National Registry preferred).
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
• Minimum three years EMS or ECRN experience.
• One year of teaching experience.
• EMS course coordination experience; familiarity with NEMSIS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EMS courses including classroom and lab instruction and scheduling instructors.
• Supervise students and evaluate learning; liaise with internal/external staff.
• Coordinate communications between Resource Hospital and EMS System.
• Monitor evaluations and report findings to EMS Administrator.
• Update preceptors with curriculum and guidelines; assist in corrective action plans.
• Attend state, regional meetings and participate in disaster drills.
• Perform other related tasks to support EMS functions.
