Job summary

Falck USA is seeking a qualified Dispatcher in a fast-paced environment to receive emergency and non-emergency calls, accurately triage, and dispatch EMS units. You will coordinate radio communications and maintain contacts with field teams to ensure rapid, safe patient transport.

Required are strong communication skills, typing speed, and CAD knowledge, with EMS/dispatch experience preferred. This role offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits based in the Aurora, CO area.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, and customers.
• Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite and understanding of database programs.
• Typing 40 wpm (minimum).
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Highly dependable with consistent deadlines.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in groups.
• One to two years EMS/dispatch experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD system and relevant software.
• Knowledge of local Metro area and counties preferred.
• EMD certification within required timeframe.
• Ability to distinguish color differences for CAD status.
• Ability to perform in high-stress environments.
• No hearing impairment affecting telephone/radio use.
• Mature, courteous, decisive demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize all incoming calls and channel emergency and non-emergency calls to appropriate personnel.
• Dispatch vehicles to emergency and non-emergency calls promptly.
• Make rapid, accurate dispatch decisions for EMS units.
• Triages requests per CBD criteria; training provided.
• Obtain required information from callers for medical transport.
• Maintain professional radio and telecommunication contact with field units and agencies.
• Prepare reports on progress, problems and statistics for managers.
• Perform basic data entry and learn new computer programs.
