Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EMS or public safety dispatcher experience or minimal medical training/telecommunications experience.
• Strong reading and writing in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly on radio and telephone.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services.
• Allocate EMS resources using decision-making rules and approved protocols.
• Complete paperwork accurately before end of shift.
• Perform shift data entry and State Run Report entries.
• Generate and verify reports for accuracy.
• Locate scenes and determine fastest routes using locator aids.
• Relay instructions from supervisors and emergency information.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and memorandums.
• Follow established formats in receiving service requests.
• Operate equipment including 911 devices, printers, computers, and telephones.
