Responsibilities include applying EMS dispatch concepts, allocating resources per protocols, and maintaining accurate paperwork and data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have minimal medical training or telecommunications experience or at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher.
• Skilled in reading and writing English.
• Capacity to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
• Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
• Able to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to him or her.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to understand basic computer applications.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services.
• Allocate EMS resources properly using approved protocols.
• Maintain completeness and accuracy of paperwork prior to shift completion.
• Perform data entry for the shift, including State Run Report data entry as assigned.
• Generate applicable reports and verify accuracy.
• Locate scene of incidents and determine fastest safe route using locator aids.
• Relay instructions from supervisors and emergency information.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, rules, and memorandums.
• Follow established formats in receiving requests for service.
• Know and use equipment such as computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, and phones.
