County Emergency Communications seeks skilled Emergency Medical Dispatchers to handle critical medical calls and coordinate emergent responses. You will verify locations, collect essential patient data, and provide instructions while maintaining clear communication with responders and callers.

A strong focus on accuracy, safety, and adherence to protocols is required to support life-saving operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification may be required.
• EMD certification may be required or preferred depending on vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources as assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions to callers.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responders.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
