Job summary

Magnolia Ambulance is seeking an on-call Dispatcher under the supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor. The role deploys and tracks EMS units, communicates with crews via radio, phone, and computer systems, and dispatches emergent and non-emergent runs per the local System Status Plan.

You will determine the nature of calls using Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols, provide pre-arrival instructions, and ensure accurate intake of information while maintaining HIPAA privacy.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and responsibility.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to type at least 30 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Broadcast orders to crews regarding runs, emergencies and general information.
• Operate radio, telephone, or computer equipment to relay information or orders.
• Assess caller information, determine the nature of the run request, and dispatch appropriately.
• Maintain security and privacy of all information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
