Emergency Telecommunicator Services seeks an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for our O Kean, AR location. You will gather patient and incident information, confirm locations, ask approved questions, and set response priorities using an agency-approved system.

Depending on training, certification, and assignment, you may provide instructions before responders arrive. The role involves extended console work, potential overnight shifts, and adherence to medical dispatch protocols and quality

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required.
• EMT or paramedic credentials are not universal requirements and depend on the vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
