You will follow established dispatch protocols, prioritize responses, and provide life-saving instructions under supervision.

The role may require CPR certification, adherence to protocol-based guidance, and participation in continuous quality-review activities within a facility that operates around the clock.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EMD certification may be required.
• CPR certification may be required; consult vacancy for accepted providers.
• EMD certification preferred if specified by employer.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
