Global Medical Response in Eureka, California is hiring part-time Dispatchers to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services. You will assign and route requests, maintaining clear communication to ensure quality care.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic medical/telecommunications experience, and strong English reading/writing. Strong typing, multitasking, and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have minimal medical training or telecommunications experience or at least 1 year EMS/public safety dispatcher experience.
• Skilled in reading and writing English.
• Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
• Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
• Able to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to you.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good typing speed and accuracy for processing emergency and nonemergency calls.
• Ability to understand basic computer applications.
• Preferred: Experience in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services.
• Assign and route transportation requests with clear communication.
• Follow Emergency Medical Dispatch concepts per AMR/ company standards.
• Allocate EMS resources using appropriate rules and protocols.
• Maintain completeness and accuracy of paperwork for the shift.
• Enter shift data accurately and complete required reports.
• Locate incident scenes and determine safest routes using locator aids.
• Relay instructions from supervisors and emergency information.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Follow established formats for service requests.
• Operate equipment including computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, and phones.
