Job summary

HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse EMS Coordinator for our fast-paced Emergency Department. You will deliver clinical expertise to ensure high-quality care, support EMS offloads, and help manage department flow with a focus on patient safety.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact) and current BLS; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS are expected within 6 months. BSN preferred, 2+ years in CC/ED, and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Department setting.
• Current Florida Registered Nurse license or eligible compact licensure with active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN is required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Greet and offload EMS arrivals during scheduled shift.
• Meet Assumption of Care standards as set by HCA.
• Collaborate with EMS partners to support teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Coordinate with assigned Clinical Nurse Coordinator to manage department flow.
• Provide recommendations related to the EMS offloading process.
• Develop and train relief EMS RNs.
• Receive patient and initiate patient care; ensure proper handoff to receiving RN.
• Serve as clinical resource for staff and assist in nursing education when not offloading EMS.
• Ensure EMS offload area equipment is functional.
• Participate in quarterly education and training events with hospital staff and EMS agencies.
