Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team, following established nursing models and ensuring a positive patient experience and outcomes.

The role requires a Florida RN license (or compact licensure) with 1+ year ER experience, current BLS, and timely ACLS/PALS/ENPC certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or appropriate compact licensure.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year ER RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 6 months of hire.
• NIHSS, TNCC, CPI training required within 6 months of hire; transfer must obtain within grace period.
• National Board Certification (CEN, CPEN) highly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and interpersonal communication; ability to read and follow instructions; proficient PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
