Patriot Ambulance Service operates a café to support its EMTs, paramedics, and staff at the Flint operations facility. The café prepares fresh meals for on-duty personnel, ensuring quality, nutrition, and sanitary practices during early morning hours.

The role covers menu planning, kitchen safety, inventory and ordering, and coordination with dispatch and leadership to align meal service with shift schedules. Priority is food safety, efficiency, and team collaboration.

Formación

• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Strong time-management and communication skills.
• Experience as a cook, sous chef, or short-order cook.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Background check must be clear of a felony conviction.
• Must possess strong skills in conflict resolution and rational decision-making.
• Current employees must be in good standing.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare a variety of hot and cold meals according to rotating menus.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (grills, fryers, ovens, slicers, etc.).
• Develop and plan menus using factors such as nutrition, portion control, and cost-management.
• Assist with inventory tracking, restocking, and ingredient ordering.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and comply with health department regulations.
• Serve meals in an efficient, friendly manner; provide quick cook service as needed.
• Work collaboratively with Dispatch, Leadership, and other departments to meet timing needs around shift schedules.
