Job summary

Mercy Youngstown, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, seeks a Revenue Cycle Specialist to oversee gross charges, patient accounting, collections and month-end close. The role focuses on optimizing cash flow and ensuring accurate billing across a busy hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have business education and experience in accounts receivable and general accounting, with the ability to navigate multiple information systems and support audits that protect revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business preferred or equivalent experience.
• Accounts Receivable and general accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Maximize collection of medical payments from patients, insurers and other sources.
• Identify and implement processes to mitigate revenue cycle risks.
• Use web-based tools to provide insurers with required information.
• Select correct patient accounts across systems to verify billable charges.
• Assist with audits to capture lost charges and verify billing.
• Handle various projects as requested.
