Job summary

AdventHealth in Merriam, Kansas is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support clinics across Shawnee Mission, Olathe and Overland Park. You will assist providers, manage scheduling, billing, and insurance verifications, and ensure accurate EMR documentation.

Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of experience; BLS CPR and CMA/CMAC/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications are required. This full-time day-shift role offers benefits from day one and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Certification as CMA / CMAC / RMA / NCMA / CCMA / NRCMA is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the provider in delivering medical care to clinic patients.
• Manages billing and charge entry processes efficiently.
• Schedules patient appointments and manages the clinic calendar.
• Handles prior authorizations for medical procedures and treatments.
• Oversees patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and processes related documentation.
• Answers phones and addresses patient inquiries professionally.
• Processes medical records and ensures accurate documentation.
• Acts as an EMR super user, providing support and training to staff.
• Maintains a high level of customer service in all patient interactions.
• Ensures compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CMAC/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/NRCMA)
