Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in multiple clinic sites. You will monitor schedules, assist physicians, and document vitals, histories and allergies following nursing protocols.

The role requires active CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications and BLS. You will work closely with healthcare teams to maintain quality care and ensure smooth clinic operations across sites in Shawnee Mission, Lenexa, and Overland Park.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent required.
• CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications required.
• BLS CPR certified is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors physician schedules and coordinates patient care for timely visits.
• Acts as daily clinic operations point of contact and resolves issues.
• Supports relationship-based care and upholds mission and values.
• Conducts training, reviews protocols, and ensures infection prevention.
• Collaborates with teams to implement best practices and maintains care quality.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Rooms patients, records vitals, history, and allergies per nursing protocols.

• Audits tests for timely results; manages nursing supplies and equipment.

Job Description:

• Monitors physician schedules and organizes patient care to ensure timely visits.
• Serves as the point of contact for daily clinic operations, assessing and resolving issues or escalating them as needed.
• Supports relationship-based care and maintains accountability for organizational mission and core values.
• Conducts training sessions, reviews patient care protocols, and ensures compliance with infection prevention guidelines.
• Collaborates with healthcare teams to implement best practices and maintains high standards of care.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Rooms patients, takes vital signs, documents reasons for visits, patient history, and allergies, following nursing protocols.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures, maintaining open communication for quality care.
• Audits ordered tests to ensure timely receipt and follow-up of results for quality healthcare.
• Monitors nursing supplies, equipment functionality, and maintenance, reporting needs to leadership.
• Delegates duties to office staff, manages operational issues, and ensures adherence to clinic quality, regulatory, billing, and customer service standards.
• Works within the organizational framework to achieve hospital and departmental goals and objectives.
• Provides direct patient care and leads front-line staff in day-to-day clinical operations.
