Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking a Behavioral Specialist to support individuals with mental health needs, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders in North Carolina and Rhode Island.

You will assess personal goals, help participants engage in the community, and ensure safety and rights are upheld. The role emphasizes person-centered planning, documentation, and collaboration with staff and advocates.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma is required.
• Certification: Driver's License is required.
• Experience: Experience working with people with mental health diagnoses, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or substance use disorder is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each personor hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
• Assist people in participating fully in their community according to their interests.
• Ensure the rights of individuals are protected and promoted at all times.
• Develop advocacy skills and participate in advocacy efforts with personal advocates.
• Provide emotional, physical, and social support as needed to each person supported.
• Establish positive, person-centered relationships that promote self-determination.
• Contribute to assessments, planning, and implementation of individual plans.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and logs.
• Assist with day-to-day home operations and transportation as needed.
• Ensure knowledge of emergency procedures and personal safety.
