Job summary

Vinfen Corporation seeks a Youth and Young Adult Peer Mentor to support YYA in engaging with services, housing, education, and employment. The role emphasizes self-determination and living skills, using recovery-based approaches and harm-reduction principles.

Qualifications

• Must have personal, first-hand experience with mental health services.
• Must become a Certified Peer Specialist within 12 months of hire.
• One year of experience working with YYA.
• Bi-lingual/bi-cultural applicants encouraged to apply.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 peer mentoring to 5-10 YYA.
• Staff AC activities and engage YYA during drop-in hours.
• Recruit for and support the YA Leadership Council.
• Plan events and trainings for the AC staff, YYA, and the community.
• Promote wellness and recovery education; address substance use.
• Attend community events to explain available supports.
