Job summary

Vinfen is seeking a Youth and Young Adult Access Center Young Adult Peer Mentor (YAPM) to support YYA in services, housing, education, and employment goals. The role focuses on mentoring, outreach, and facilitating peer support groups within the AC setting.

The YAPM will provide 1:1 mentoring to 5–10 YYA, help nurture self-determination, and collaborate with TIP Facilitators and AC staff to promote recovery and community integration.

Qualifications

• Personal, first-hand experience with mental health services.
• Must become a Certified Peer Specialist within 12 months of hire.
• One year of experience working with YYA.
• Bi-lingual/bi-cultural applicants encouraged to apply.
• Driving is a requirement; valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Works with YYA to enhance self-direction and empowerment.
• Provides 1:1 peer mentoring to 5–10 YYA.
• Staffs AC activities and drop-in hours to support YYA participation.
• Welcomes YYA to services and engages in community events.
• Reaches out to and educates YYA and community stakeholders about services.
