Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Part-time Veteran Case Manager for the Durango shelter to assess eligibility, perform intakes, coordinate services and provide case management for homeless veterans. The role includes developing life‑skills programs and collaborating with VA and community partners to connect participants with housing, employment, mental health and housing resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in a related area.
• One-year direct experience with vulnerable populations, including mental health awareness.
• Own automobile, Colorado-mandated automobile insurance and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure veteran voice is incorporated into program evaluation and improvement.
• Coordinates services that lead to housing for homeless veterans.
• Works with VA to determine eligibility, benefits, and other support for each participant.
• Develops life skills programs and recruits instructors to teach topics like employment and independent living.
• Creates and implements activities for participants, such as employment groups and financial planning.
• Locates volunteer and community opportunities for program participants.
• Maintains timely program information and communicates with interested individuals.
• Acts as a community liaison for Volunteers of America Colorado.
• Collects statistics and prepares required reports.
• Supports monthly billing forms and tracks statistics and demographics as needed.
