Good Shepherd Services, Ltd. seeks a dedicated Youth Development Counselor to supervise and guide female adolescents in a residential setting. You will create a therapeutic milieu for growth, supervise residents, and coordinate activities while engaging families when appropriate.

You will work 40 hours weekly on-site, including day, evening, overnight shifts, and some weekends. A HS diploma is required, with a preference for higher education and strong crisis intervention skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• State mandated crisis intervention training must be completed within two months of hire.
• Must be able to perform physical restraint of a resident.
• Must be able to complete state mandated medication administration training.
• Evening, overnight, weekend and holiday hours required.

Responsabilités

• Ensure the whereabouts and safety of participants at all times.
• Plan, lead and engage participants in activities including recreation, tutoring, cultural events, and family activities.
• Escort participants to court, school, medical visits, and other appointments.
• Monitor participants’ school performance and provide homework assistance.
• Supervise and record participants' medical needs and follow-up.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Apply Sanctuary Model tools to create a non-violent, trauma-sensitive culture.
• Promote and model Sanctuary Model commitments.
• Integrate the SELF framework into daily practice for quality care and a positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
