Non-Profit Organization in Virginia is seeking passionate Youth Residential Counselors to provide compassionate supervision and guidance to adolescents residing in our residential facility. You will monitor behavioral and emotional well-being and help create a safe environment that supports positive development.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with weekend shifts; full-time requires weekend availability while part-time offers weekend options.

Formación

• High School Diploma and six months experience working with children.
• Strong skills in behavior management and patient observation.
• Experience in behavioral health support and youth services.
• Ability to support family visitation and community involvement.
• Commitment to culturally competent services.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee physical care of residents
• Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents
• Management of resident behavior
• Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan
• Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents
• Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident
• Maintain structure and regulations at all times
• Document required forms accurately
• Perform waive testing on residents after home visits and as needed
• Attend mandated trainings and pursue opportunities to meet standards
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors
• Ability to work on the weekends

Job Summary

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to provide Residential services to adolescents at our main campus. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate supervision, support, and guidance to youth residing in our residential facility. Your responsibilities will include monitoring behavioral and emotional well-being, and ensuring a safe environment conducive to positive development.

We have both full-time and part-time positions available. Full-time positions would require weekend availability. Part-time positions require weekend availability, but with the flexibility of choosing every weekend or every other weekend depending on your availability and preference.

Responsibilities of the Youth Residential Counselor:

• Oversee physical care of residents
• Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents
• Management of resident behavior
• Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan
• Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents
• Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident
• Maintain structure and regulations at all times
• Completely and accurately document any required forms
• Perform waive testing on residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed with complete accuracy and compliance
• Attend all training mandated and continuously pursue training opportunities to meet standards
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, and Director of Residential
• Ability to work on the weekends

Qualifications of the Youth Residential Counselor and Youth Mentor:

• High School Diploma and six months experience working with children
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services OR actively pursuing the degree is preferred
• Strong skills in behavior management, patient observation, and behavioral health support
• Ability to support constructive resident-family visitation and resident involvement in community activities
• Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
• Possess the temperament to work with and care for children, and youth, some with special needs in multiple age ranges
• Ability to accurately collect, review, and analyze waive testing of residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed

Logistics of Position:

We have both full-time and part-time positions available. Full-time positions would require weekend availability. Part-time positions require weekend availability, but with the flexibility of choosing every weekend or every other weekend depending on your availability and preference.

• Saturday and Sunday: 12 hours shifts 6:30 pm-6:30 am
• Two 8 hour weekday shifts: 10:30 pm - 6:30 am
