Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for Adult Basic Education HSE/GED in the Las Vegas area. The role supports students preparing for the HSE exam (GED/HiSET) with a blend of in-person and online instruction, curriculum alignment, and progress monitoring.

Qualified applicants will hold a regionally accredited Bachelor's degree and have experience teaching basics to HSE prep, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Experience teaching Basic through intermediate level math, reading, writing or High School Equivalent testing preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft & Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Teach Basic Skills, Pre-HSE, and HSE Preparation methods.
• Maintain and submit accurate student records (syllabi, attendance, lesson plans).
• Motivate students to complete their educational goals beyond basic education.
• Collaborate with colleagues on course offerings, programs and activities.
• Attend professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
• Adhere to prescribed curriculum and standards; use diverse teaching techniques and assessments.
