Job summary

CrossWinds Counseling & Wellness is hiring a Parent Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-focused, family-centered peer support for parents and guardians of children with SED/SUD. You will draw on lived experience to promote hope, resilience, and self-advocacy, helping families access services and stabilize at home and in the community.

The role involves home, office, school, and virtual settings within the service area, with regular travel and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in peer support, family advocacy, or health and human services preferred.
• Must self-identify as a person with lived experience raising a child with SED, SUD, or co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain KDADS certification and MAB training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides parent-to-parent peer support using lived experience and maintains professional boundaries.
• Offers individual and group peer support in homes, offices, and community settings, including virtual services.
• Assists families in navigating treatment, schools, and community services per treatment plans.
• Supports families in identifying strengths, recovery goals, and participating in treatment planning.
• Maintains accurate records, progress notes, and program documentation.
