Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Para Educator to support classrooms in the K-12 setting, assisting with supervision, guidance, and instruction as directed by certified teachers and school leadership. Duties include material prep, tutoring in small groups, data collection, and basic student care in a respectful, confidential environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work with students who have varying needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.
• Willingness to follow supervising teacher directions and school policy.
• Capacity to maintain accurate records and data as required.
• Ability to work with students with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional activities under teacher supervision.
• Supervise students during meals, activities, and buses as needed.
• Assist individuals and small groups to complete tasks.
• Provide personal hygiene assistance when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior regarding students and staff.
• Attend staff development activities as requested.
• Report problems or needs to the supervising teacher promptly.
