Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with disabilities in collaboration with the instructional team. You will assist with academic instruction, activities, and life skills, while ensuring safety, health, and student dignity, and helping promote self-advocacy.

Qualifications

Must possess a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work with parents, students and staff.
Computer skills are required.
Good communication and organizational skills are essential.
Ability to be self-directed and solve problems.
Good attendance is important for this position.

Responsibilities

Assist students with disabilities according to IEPs in academics, behavior, and related services.
Assist instructional team with development of work assignments and services.
Help implement health care, instructional programs and manage student behavior.
Maintain student confidentiality.
Assist in administering assessments as needed.
Support implementation of planned lessons and monitor progress.
