Job summary

Haslett Public Schools seeks a licensed professional counselor to join Haslett Middle School as a Middle School Counselor. The role focuses on implementing comprehensive guidance, delivering group and individual counseling, and connecting families with community resources.

The counselor will oversee 504 plans and attendance interventions, participate in the building leadership team, and pursue reflective practice and professional growth through ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Licensed master’s level professional counselor degree or limited licensure with supervision.
• Experience with Skyward or similar scheduling software.
• Experience in personal and crisis counseling.
• Experience with 504 plans, attendance interventions, and alternative education pathways.
• Successful guidance counseling experience or teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in middle school classrooms.
• Provide group and individual guidance and counseling for individuals and small groups.
• Connect families with community resources and supports.
• Actively participate in the building leadership team.
• Evaluate, write, and monitor 504 plans for students.
• Commitment to reflective practices and professional growth.
