Job summary

Howell Public Schools seeks an Elementary School Guidance Counselor to plan and implement a developmental counseling program for K-5 students. You will provide consultation, coordination, and delivery of support services to foster academic, emotional, behavioral, and social development.

The role reports to the Principal, is located at Hutchings Elementary School, and requires in-person attendance. Bachelor's degree and MI Counseling endorsement are essential, with a minimum of three years in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Michigan teaching certificate with Counseling (NT) endorsement in grades K-5 required; K-12 preferred.
• Three years of teaching and/or school counseling experience preferred, elementary level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting parental involvement and community relations.
• Counsel students with academic, emotional, social and/or behavioral issues.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, support staff, and agencies to support students.
• Provide guidance and teach coping and conflict resolution skills to students.
• Maintain thorough student records and provide regular updates to families and staff.
