Job summary

Haslett Public Schools seeks a licensed professional counselor to join Haslett Middle School as a Middle School Counselor. The role focuses on implementing comprehensive guidance, delivering group and individual counseling, and connecting families with community resources.

The counselor will oversee 504 plans and attendance interventions, participate in the building leadership team, and pursue reflective practice and professional growth through ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Licensed master’s level professional counselor degree or limited licensure with supervision.
• Experience with Skyward or similar scheduling software.
• Experience in personal and crisis counseling.
• Experience with 504 plans, attendance interventions, and alternative education pathways.
• Successful guidance counseling experience or teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in middle school classrooms.

LOCATION: Haslett Middle School

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed master’s level professional counselor degree OR a limited licensed master’s level professional counselor (will work under the supervision of a licensed master’s level professional counselor)
• Experience in scheduling using Skyward or a similar program
• Experience in personal and crisis counseling.
• Experience with 504 plans, attendance interventions, and alternative education pathways
• Successful previous guidance counseling experience and/or teaching experience
